New York Magazine “Best Of” Issue

Both sturdy and sleek, the pieces are attuned to the space constraints and storage needs of small urban apartments. The Knickerbocker bed, for instance, incorporates four drawers underneath its platform; the Halsey Hideaway dresser opens from both the front and the side. Flush fronts keep things streamlined, while natural wood finishes maintain a calm, unfettered look. Model names nod to Brooklyn subway stops, like Dekalb (a lacquer end table), Lawrence (a rolling cabinet), or Lorimer (a low-slung dresser). WONK clearly prides itself on being a homegrown business and makes all of its products locally, just a few more stops down the line in Bushwick. — Jennifer Paull
